The main components of the logo of the 50th anniversary of Thailand – Bangladesh diplomatic relations are number 50 and the national flags of both countries. The distinctive feature is in number 5 which is a combination of this number in Thai and Bengali script. Number 50 has a gold borderline, signifying the golden jubilee of relations. The flags of Thailand and Bangladesh are displayed in number 5 and 0 respectively.
The top curve of number 5 is stylized in the form of a lotus bud, which is abundant and has cultural significance in Thailand and Bangladesh. At the bottom of the logo is a caption “50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Thailand – Bangladesh.”
The logo is jointly designed by the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. It was officially launched at the 2nd Bilateral Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of both countries on 1 March 2022 in Bangkok.
Thailand recognized Bangladesh on 16 February 1972. The two countries established diplomatic relations on 5 October 1972.
