On 23 February 2018, H.E. Ms. Panpimon Suwannapongse, Ambassador of Thailand to Bangladesh, attended the Atisha Dipankar Peace Gold Award & Visuddhanananda Peace Gold Award Conferring Ceremony held at the Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery. On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Panpimon presented a cheque of 131,752.31 Taka (equivalent to 50,000 Baht) to His Holiness Sanghanayaka Suddhananda Mahathero, Abbot of the Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery and President of Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha, as a donation to support Dharmarajika High School, the Orphanage of the Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery, Basabo, Dhaka.

This initiative is aimed at supporting activities of the Dharmarajika High School, the Orphanage of the Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery, which has taken care of more than 350 orphans. It will also help strengthen Thai-Bangladeshi relations, especially at the people-to-people level through common social and cultural values.
