On 6 October 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka hosted a reception to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Bangladesh. H.E. Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen, MP, Hon'ble Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, attended as Chief Guest and delivered remarks for the occasion. Approximately 200 guests attended the event. 

Included in the programme were "Falling in Love with Thai Food", Tom Yam Kung  cooking demonstration, award presentation to winners of photography under the theme "More Alike Than We Might Think: Unpacking Linkages and Similarities between Thailand and Bangladesh" and short VDO contest under the theme "My Bangladesh", cultural performances sponsored by Tourism Authority of Thailand and Azampur Government Primary School and a lucky draw.

Thailand and Bangladesh established diplomatic relations on 5 October 1972. On this special occasion, the Prime Ministers of both sides also exchanged congratulatory messages.
