On 21 December 2017, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government, H.E. Ms. Panpimon Suwannapongse, Ambassador of Thailand to Bangladesh, presented a cheque of 7,796,000 taka (equivalent to 100,000 USD) to Ms. Christa Maria Räder, Representative of World Food Programme (WFP) and another cheque of 7,796,000 taka (equivalent to 100,000 USD) to Mr. Sarat Dash, Chief of Mission of International Organization for Migration (IOM), in donations to support humanitarian assistance to displaced persons affected by the situation in the Rakhine state. The total donations amounted to 15,592,000 taka (or equivalent to 200,000 USD).
