On 18 November 2021, Ambassador Makawadee Sumitmor attended the Holy Kathina Dana Ceremony at Dharmarajika Buddhist Temple in Dhaka. On this auspicious occasion, the Ambassador gave a message to the Buddhist community in Bangladesh, published in Kristi magazine. She offered her sincere felicitations on the occasion of the annual Holy Kathina Dana which is a time that all Buddhists will work in unity to organize the event. The Ambassador also extended her appreciation to all Buddhist temples in Bangladesh for their dedication and perseverance in preaching the teaching of Lord Buddha and for being a safe haven for anyone in need.

Dharmarajika Buddhist Temple is the only temple in Bangladesh where two Kings of Thailand have paid a visit. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great visited in 1962 while His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn visited in 1992.
