Entry Measures into Thailand from 1 June 2022

 

From 1 June 2022, travelers can enter Thailand without quarantine and are not required to take COVID-19 test upon arrival. This measure applies to both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers (for Thais and foreigners alike).

*However, some airlines may request a negative PCR test result before boarding and the border disease control checkpoint in Thailand may request travelers with a high temperature or symptom to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival.

 

For Thai nationals

All Thai nationals with a Thai passport are not required to register on the Thailand Pass system and can enter Thailand by presenting the following documents to the airline before departure:

(1) Thai passport

(2) Vaccination Certificate of COVID-19 (if vaccinated with at least 2 doses more than 14 days before departure); or a RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before departure (if unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated)

Thai nationals are not required to submit a medical insurance.

For Foreigners

Foreign nationals (including children of Thai nationals who do not hold a Thai passport) who wish to travel to Thailand by air must register on the Thailand Pass system at https://tp.consular.go.th. The system will automatically issue a QR code within 1-2 hours to a registered e-mail address after the registration has been completed and approved.

For foreign travelers who are fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to departure and have a certificate of vaccination, please prepare the following documents for registration:

(1) Passport

(2) Vaccination Certificate of COVID-19*

(3) Medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 10,000 USD (expats residing in Thailand can use a social security card or a certifying letter issued by the employer)

*The vaccination certificate should contain the travelers’ personal information (full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and details of each vaccination).

For unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated foreigners, please prepare the following documents for registration:

(1) Passport

(2) A negative RT-PCR or professional ATK (not self-ATK) test result issued within 72 hours before departure (children under 6 years old traveling with parents or guardians are not required).
*The RT-PCR test must be written in English with a letter head and a doctor’s signature*

(3) Medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 10,000 USD (expats residing in Thailand can use a social security card or certifying letter issued by the employer)

Regulations for travelers under the age of 18 who would like to enter Thailand 

Children under the age of 18 are not required to receive COVID-19 vaccination if travelling with a parent/legal guardian who is fully vaccinated.

Children under the age of 18 who received at least 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccination more than 14 days before departure are considered fully vaccinated.

  1. Children with a Thai passport

     1.1 Travelling with a Thai parent/legal guardian

          - Children with a Thai passport are not required to register on the Thailand Pass system.

          - If the parent/legal guardian is fully vaccinated, the children can enter without vaccination.

          - If both parent/legal guardian and children are not fully vaccinated, both parent/legal guardian and children must have a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before departure. (Children under 6 years old are not required.)

          - If only the children are fully vaccinated, the parent/legal guardian must have a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19.

      1.2 Travelling alone (5-17 years old)

          - Children aged between 5-17 years old, with at least 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccine no less than 14 days, can enter Thailand alone by presenting a vaccination Certificate of COVID-19.

          - Children aged between 5-17 years old, without vaccination, can enter Thailand alone with a RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before departure.

  1. Children with a foreign passport

     2.1 Traveling with a foreign parent/legal guardian

          - If the parent/legal guardian is fully vaccinated, the children can enter without vaccination.

          - Please prepare the following documents for registration on the Thailand Pass system:

          (1) Parent/legal guardian's passport

          (2) Children's passport

          (3) Vaccination certificate of COVID-19 of the parent or a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to departure of both parent/legal guardian and children. (Children under 6 years old are not required.)

          (4) Medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 10,000 USD for both parent/legal guardian and children

      2.2 Travelling with a Thai parent/legal guardian

          - If the Thai parent/legal guardian are fully vaccinated, the children can enter Thailand without vaccination.

          - The Thai parent/legal guardian has to register on the Thailand Pass system for both parent/legal guardian and children by preparing the following documents:

          (1) Thai Parent/legal guardian's passport

          (2) Children's passport

          (3) (In case the Thai parent/legal guardian is fully vaccinated) Vaccination certificate of parent/legal guardian

                (In case both Thai parent/legal guardian and children are not fully vaccinated) A negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to departure of both Thai parent/legal guardian and children. (Children under 6 years old are not required.)

               (In case only children are fully vaccinated) Vaccination certificate of children and a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to departure of the parent/legal guardian.

        (4) Medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 10,000 USD for the children

      2.3 Travelling alone (5-17 years old)

Please prepare the following documents for registration on the Thailand Pass system:

        (1) Children's Passport

        (2) Vaccination certificate of COVID-19 or a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to departure (Children under 6 years old are not required.)

        (3) Medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 10,000 USD

Regulations for travelers who have previously been infected with Covid-19 and would like to enter Thailand

  1. Travelers who had been infected with COVID-19 at least 14 days before the date of travelling, and fully recovered, will be able to travel to Thailand.
  2. Travelers, who had been infected with COVID-19 within 3 months before travelling, should prepare a COVID-19 recovery form certifying of the full recovery from COVID-19, to show to the Thai health quarantine officer in case an RT-PCR test upon arrival is positive.
  3. Travelers who had been infected with COVID-19 for more than 3 months before entering Thailand and received at least one dose of vaccination at any time after being infected with COVID-19 are considered fully vaccinated.
  4. Travelers who were fully vaccinated prior to COVID-19 infection are considered as fully vaccinated. 

Foreigners or Foreign passport holders

(including Thai national's children who do not hold a Thai Passport)
